Help Us Support International AAC Awareness Month in October!

October is AAC Awareness Month, and the BPS Foundation is committed to ensuring that every child across our district has the tools they need to be heard. With your help, we are working to install Communication Stations on every Bismarck Public School playground.

These stations use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) symbols to give children with speech and language challenges a way to express themselves, participate in play, and connect with their peers. They transform playgrounds into places of inclusion, empathy, and accessibility—where every child has the chance to share their voice and be understood.

Installing AAC playground signs will do more than support nonverbal students. They encourage inclusivity by allowing all children to join activities, help raise awareness and understanding among classmates, foster a stronger sense of community, and provide learning opportunities about the many ways people communicate.

Your support can make this vision a reality. A gift of any size will directly fund the purchase and installation of these signs. You can also sponsor a Communication Station for $2,500, with your logo proudly displayed to recognize your generosity.

Another way to help is by purchasing merchandise. A portion of the proceeds will go toward funding the Communication Stations! Together, we can build a community where every child is heard and every voice matters!
