Horizon Middle School
About
In January 2001, the students and staff at Hughes Middle School moved north to a new building named Horizon Middle School. The name of the new school was submitted by Robert Schaible. Immediately after the move, contractors began working on the Hughes building to turn it into school district administrative space, as well as a home for the Adult Learning Center and South Central High School. The School Board renamed the building Hughes Educational Center.
As of 2014 Horizon had about 900 students and 120 full time and part time staff.
