Tripod Kitty and the Recipe for Kindness, written by Clarice Nassif Ransom, is a heartfelt story about resilience, courage, and kindness. Orie is a handsome and athletic kitty, who faces an unexpected challenge when he overcomes cancer but loses a limb during summer break. As he prepares to return to school, Orie feels afraid, worried that being different will change how others see him.
With the guidance of a wise teacher, Orie and his friends discover that kindness can make all the difference. They learn that sometimes the simplest acts, like baking chocolate chip cookies and sharing them with others, can help bring people together and create understanding.
All proceeds from Tripod Kitty and the Recipe for Kindness go toward a meaningful cause, 100% of earnings support the Ardys J. Munson/Swanson Memorial Scholarship, established in 2021 by Clarice Nassif Ransom in memory of a beloved Bismarck High School English and journalism teacher of over 30 years, whose passion for teaching and love of literature inspired generations of students, including the author herself. The scholarship is awarded annually to a BHS senior pursuing a future in teaching and/or journalism, helping carry on Ardys’ legacy of education, mentorship, and dedication to students, and making a lasting impact for future generations.
