Murphy Culture

The Culture Committee’s goal is to, as a school community, recognize and celebrate the success of not only Murphy as a building, but individual student and staff accomplishments to build the culture and climate at Murphy

Culture (Hospitality) Dues: The money staff members pay that goes to Culture provides celebrations and gifts (the happy times) throughout the year such as: baby showers, bridal showers, retirement parties, gift cards to staff who transfer or leave, Boss’ Day, Administrative Assistants’ Day, Custodial Staff Appreciation, Support Staff Day, Teacher Appreciation, and the Christmas party.

“Jeans” Day Dues: The money staff members pay that goes to “Jeans” Days helps those of our Murphy family in need (the sad times) and provides cards and gifts of money for situations such as illnesses, medical needs, and funerals. We decided at last night’s meeting that we’re going to increase the amounts given out in these situations as we feel that we are currently able to be more generous with our funds. *Of the $30, $21 of that stays in our building because $9 for each staff member gets sent to CAB for the city-wide Jeans Day ($1 for the last Friday of the month).
