Logo Licensing Annual Fees

Effective July 1^st, 2025 the BPS Logo Licensing Royalty policy will transition to a tier-based system. Previous to this change, all royalties were reported (and paid if applicable) quarterly at a rate of 5% of the total sales.

The tier-based royalty system will be as follows:

1. Vendors who have been inactive for 1 year will be dropped from the program, (unless they opt to pay the $50 annually moving forward).
2. Vendors with $0-$2500 annual sales: Pay $50 annually to remain active with no % of sales to be paid in. (This is typically vendors working out of their home.)
3. Vendors with $2500-$9,999 annual sales: Pay $300 annually to remain active with no % of sales to be paid in. (This is typically vendors under franchised/storefront business.)
4. Vendors with $10,000-$19,999 annual sales: Pay $750 annually to remain active with no % of sales to be paid in. (This is typically vendors under franchised/storefront business.)
5. Vendors who average $20k+ in sales annually will remain at 5% and submit quarterly.

Vendors will be required to submit tracking annually along with their invoice and can/will be moved into the appropriate bracket based on their year prior sales.

New vendors will be tiered as follows:

• Self-employed vendors working out of this home (typically a small side business) will pay $50 for the first year and will either remain or be placed in the appropriate bracket based on sales the following year.
• Vendors working under a franchise/storefront commercial business will pay $300 for the first year and will either remain or be placed in the appropriate bracket based on sales the following year.
• Regarding buyouts, businesses would automatically be placed into their previous bracket.

This change in policy was developed to effectively manage the increase in approved vendors within the Bismarck community. This change will also ensure that our approved vendor list remains up to date with vendors who are actively serving our community while minimizing the tracking and payments that are required from our smaller business owners.
