Barb’s Story
In the spring of 2022 Barbara Zins, a 26-year Program Aid for Children of Special Needs at Bismarck Public Schools, developed a cancerous tumor in her breast and had it successfully removed via radiation. In the fall of 2022, Barb started to develop new symptoms of shortness of breath and a cough. It was originally thought that the shortness of breath was caused by the radiation from her breast cancer. However, upon several tests and scans, Barb was diagnosed with Adeno Carcinoma with Lipidic Growth (BAC) a rare type of cancer of the lungs.
Barb runs a small ranch on her own east of Bismarck. She has four children, three of which live out of state and seven grandchildren. She is a tough as nails, passionate outdoorswoman who loves to hunt, fish, ride horse and be with her family. She has changed the lives of many children she has worked with in the school system and will go the extra mile for anyone.
With the ongoing treatments Barb is receiving, she is unable to work due to her immune system being very fragile. Barb is dedicated to her work in the schools, but will all the colds and viruses, it is best for Barb’s health for her not to be at work.
Please consider donating to Barb so she can continue her journey in treatment and her road to recovery. We appreciate everyone’s support during this time.
Would like help Barb but are unable to attend? Please consider donating below, or on her Go Fund Me Page: “Barbs Battle”, thank you!
