Interested in Joining our Board?
Would you be interested in using your time and talent to assist the Bismarck Public Schools Foundation as a member of our Board of Directors? We’d be interested in visiting with you. We’re always seeking the expertise and experience of community members seeking to give back to our great school system.
Board can consist of 9-12 members. A Director may serve two consecutive three-year terms. Our board meets quarterly as does one of the sub-committees you would serve on.

Becoming a Board Member
Good Notes to Know:
- Quorum: 1/3 of the elected board of directors.
- Board can consist of 9-12 members.
- Each board member can serve two 3-year staggered terms, ex-officio’s serve as their position allows.
- Executive Committee: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, BPS School Board Member, and BPS Superintendent
- The Foundation shall have three standing committees: Development, Finance/Investment and Grant Committees. The Development committee shall consist of the board president, school board representative and the superintendent. The Finance/Investment and grant committees shall be assigned by the board president.
Duties of the Board are:
- To serve as directors for the Bismarck Public School Foundation regarding the generation and use of BPS Foundation funds and gifts.
- To seek funds and other gifts to strengthen educational programs and services for Bismarck Public Schools.
- To develop by-laws, policies, and procedures which will encourage and enhance contributions to the BPS Foundation.
