Annual Fill the Bus event Monday, August 14th to help students in need prepare for Back to School

For the 27th year in a row, iHeart Media along with community businesses and individual donors, are assisting students in need with the Fill the Bus Event. On August 14th from 6am-6pm, iHeart media will be broadcasting from two of the Bismarck Tri-Energy Cenex locations with a school bus on site (1160 W Divide Avenue and 3801 E Rosser Avenue). Donations will still be accepted at all Bismarck Tri-Energy Cenex locations on August 14th.  Community members are encouraged to come and “Fill the Bus” with the supplies that are needed for students as they are going into their 2023/2024 school year.

The supplies requested are as follows (in order of need):

  • Backpacks (youth and adult with computer liner)
  • Pencil Boxes or Pencil Bag
  • Kleenex/Face Tissue Boxes
  • Markers
  • Colored Pencils
  • Earbuds or Headphones
  • Yellow Highlighters
  • Black Sharpies
  • Dry Erase Markers
  • Calculators (both basic and scientific)
  • Flash Drives
  • 3×5 Notecards
  • 1-2 inch Ring Binders
  • Scissors (Fiskars preferred, various sizes needed)
  • Folders and Binder Dividers (both with pockets)
  • Notebooks (Composition, Wide-ruled & College ruled)
  • Rulers
  • Crayons (24 pack)
  • Glue Sticks

Supplies collected will go to students in need within Bismarck, Mandan and surrounding areas.

Parents in need of school supplies for their student should contact their student’s school in mid-August. Please provide the grade levels of each student and the school will work to facilitate your request.
