Community raises over $16,000 for BPS Family Assistance Fund, helping struggling BPS families.

Through the efforts of Giving Hearts Day, the Bismarck Public Schools Foundation was able to raise $16,273 for the BPS family assistance fund. The BPS family assistance fund has traditionally provided support to meet basic needs for struggling families. Most often these families do not qualify for existing community supports or have not yet been approved and need immediate assistance. Moving forward we are looking to expand the services of this program to provide for immediate basic needs such as hygiene items, household cleaning items, pantry items and basic clothing needs.

This new program enhancement will help to alleviate BPS school’s fundraising efforts for these needs on an individual school basis.  In addition to being a centralized resource for our schools, the distribution of these items will be facilitated through our Life Education program, providing authentic work experiences.

We would like to thank Eide Ford and Eide Chrysler for their match donation as well as all donors who made this possible.  Our BPS families in need are deeply appreciative of the help that they have received from this program.

For more information or to donate to the BPS Family Assistance Fund, please go to bpsfoundation.com/bpsfaf.

BPS families in need are encouraged to work with their school’s social worker and/or counselor for assistance.

Thank you to all within the community that assist us in our mission to empower every learner to thrive.
