Marathon Petroleum Corp. (MPC) donated $45,000 to the Bismarck Public School Foundation to be used to increase accessibility and capabilities for STEM programs within BPS. Most of these funds will be utilized to assist the Career Academy with equipment upgrades, which ensures students are learning on industry standard equipment, as well as provide Lego Robotics to grades 5-12 throughout the District.
“We are committed to having an impact on the communities in which we operate and to enhancing life’s opportunities,” says Rick Hastings, Mandan refinery General Manager. “STEM programs help inspire the next generation, and through our support for Bismarck Public Schools are inspired to make tomorrow even better.”
The Marathon Petroleum Foundation strategically focuses its community investments on three core areas where it can make a positive, measurable impact: science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education, environmental conservation/sustainability and public safety.
